A Kid Again fosters hope, happiness and healing for families raising kids with life-threatening illnesses.  We provide year-round fun-filled activities for the entire family alongside other families in a similar situation.  We call these Adventures and they occur multiple times a year and are at no cost to the families.  This is accomplished thanks to the generous support of our staff, volunteers and donors who give of their time, talent and treasure.

Scope of Role

The Executive Director of the Indianapolis Chapter has the opportunity to significantly impact the mission, vision, growth and success of A Kid Again.  This position is responsible for leading the Indianapolis Chapter efforts of the organization with the spirit and drive to optimize the revenues derived from individual, corporate and foundation contributions (grants) and extend the impact of the programming for Adventures.

The role will oversee the entire life cycle of philanthropy giving from prospect research, cultivation, solicitation, securing the gifts, stewardship, information management and any other related actions.  The Executive Director will guide the marketing and communications efforts of the Chapter to raise awareness with a diverse audience of stakeholders, protect and leverage the brand, and attract donors to support the growing base of families and children who benefit from the much needed services provided.  Additionally, the position will oversee the programming for Adventures that impact the lives of families raising children with a life threatening illness.

The Executive Director reports to the Chief Operating Officer, partners with the Chief Executive Director (CEO) and Indianapolis Chapter Advisory Board to design, execute and accomplish the development, marketing, and programming goals for the Indianapolis Chapter.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience required
  • Strong development and executive leadership demonstrated by 5+ years' experience in non-profit organizations, CFRE designation a plus.
  • Successful work history in designing and implementing development, marketing and programming plans.
  • Strong working knowledge of current donor software applications, experience using Raisers Edge a plus.
